Alton Community Centre
Adult Education EHLL
If you've ever wanted to learn a foreign language, learn to paint and draw, take up Yoga or Tai Chi or take better photographs, then we've got adult education courses for you. Our courses are all vocational non-examination classes designed to help people over 18 to better themselves, to expand their horizons and have some fun along the way. Alton Community Association, working in partnership with Hampshire Futures, runs East Hampshire Leisure Learning (EHLL) classes in venues in Alton, Petersfield, Liss, Horndean and Alresford. This term we are also offering courses in partnership with Alton College To find out about our range of classes, you can browse our lists of courses using the links here:
Full details of each course are in our brochure which you can download below or you can pick up a printed copy at one of our course centres. We issue a new brochure for each ten-week September-December, January-March and April-July term each year, following the academic year. The course listings and the brochure list the class times, dates and prices.
It is possible to claim a 50% course fee discount on selected courses that are funded through our funding partnership with Hampshire Futures if you are in receipt of state pension or if you are on certain benefits (subject to availability), please see individual course listing for details of which courses are eligible for the discount. You can also claim a 10% discount if you are a ACA member.
Hampshire Futures (part of Hampshire County Council) supports through funding partnerships, adult and family learning courses across Hampshire at a wide range of venues including schools, children’s centres, community centres and through voluntary organisations. One of the aims of Hampshire Futures is to develop and strengthen a network of adult and family learning providers across the county. There are many other providers of learning in Hampshire including further education colleges, voluntary and community organisations and private training organisations. Hampshire Futures work in partnership with a variety of organisations, to share knowledge about teaching and training in order to maximise learning opportunities for local people.
Most courses are a total of 10 weeks and we ask that students endeavour to attend all sessions and arrive on time for each session. This ensures the whole class receive the maximum time to enjoy this subject and you get the most out of your leisure learning experience.
